Not so sure I had put it up brilliantly either! My best mate's son inspected it - he has been camping most weekends for years - he is a total expert and gave me marks of 4/10. Not sure it was quite that bad myself but there you go. It kept our son dry in it for one night when he slept out anyway! So next thing I know, Steve has been browsing ebay, preloved etc and found a 4 berth tent at a reasonable price and not too far away and would also be good for us to use anyway. So, off we all go in the car, collect said tent and then return for another trail run of putting up this tent in the back garden to make sure its ok! | So Friday came along and after dropping our son at the childminders off we set for Derbyshire. Found it easily enough, beautiful grounds. After helping get the stall set up, off I went outside to get the tent up and went fine! Hooray. So I set off home, bidding Steve farewell until my return on Sunday. Glad that I indeed was going to have a lovely warm bed that night. Well the tent was still up and it was hammering down with rain as I pulled up outside the tent about 8am Sunday morning. Steve was still inside, looking like he was on a water bed - the double air mattress was like a giant marshmallow but not white or pink obviously! Apparently in the early hours he heard some sheep nearby baa'ing. It got louder and louder - he said that in the end he thought the whole tent was surrounded by sheep ha-ha. What a thought eh? Anyway, all is well that ends well. I will be back with you very soon for the next blog which is about criminal collectables! Love the Mrs xxx |
Morning people, its a glorious sunny day with pure blue skies. Makes you feel glad to be alive doesnt it? Steve would prob say no though lol. He prefers the darkened world. Been busy few weeks, having done Kniver fair, and this last weekend Kedleston Hall antiques in the park as well. So its been a while since my last blog. Kedleston was a 3 day fair and to cut down on me driving backwards and forwards for 3 days Steve came up with the great idea of camping there in a tent. Steve used to do a lot of cycling in his younger years and with having been in the forces too, living rough and camping are certainly not strange concepts to him (apparently lol) He was going to borrow a tent off his sister first of all. We got it home and I had a go (tent novice I am, well I did help put one up in the girl guides but that was about 25 years ago now!) at putting it up in our back garden first to test it and make sure it would be ok. Oh My God, what a laugh we all had. It was a tiny one man tent. There was no way Steve was gonna fit into there? Unbeknown to me Steve had been watching from the window as my son and I figured out how to put the tent up - he was belly laughing as he came outside. He tried to get in it, our son crawled in after him. I was nearly wetting myself laughing soooo much. There is a hilarious video clip showing you Steve trying to get in and out of this one man tent! If I can, will upload it soon.

These are most important things for camping, first and most important is camping tent, then camping stove for food, some bed rolls. it will make your camping perfect. I also used all these things when i used to go for camping.
